Dear Afaf, Benjamin Netanyahu will speak tomorrow morning (Tuesday, March 3) before both Houses of Congress in an effort to sabotage any negotiated settlement between the United States and Iran. ANSWER is organizing a demonstration tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. We hope you will join us. If you can’t come to the protest, please show your support for this action and for the ongoing work to cut all U.S. financing and funding of Israel by making an urgently needed donation. This movement needs funds in order to keep growing all over the country. Netanyahu’s appearance before Congress is a real outrage. Netanyahu should be arrested for war crimes. Instead, he is being put on a pedestal and treated like a “great leader.” The disgusting imagery of millionaire politicians applauding his every word, in a spectacle paid for by U.S. taxpayers, will be the top of the news tomorrow. It is critical that people speak out – and we are! The majority of the American people (63 percent) believe this speech should be cancelled. A growing number want to cut all U.S. aid to Israel, which uses these funds to massacre Palestinians in Gaza, steal the lands of Palestinians in the West Bank and maintain a colonial domination over all of historic Palestine.
Please join us tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at a protest at the Capitol Building (Upper Senate Park directly across Constitution Ave. on the North Side). Bring a sign or banner. We will also have signs and banners for people to carry. At 9:00 a.m. we will march from Upper Senate Park to Speaker John Boehner’s office at 1011 Longworth House Building. Boehner and his right-wing buddies organized Netanyahu’s speech before Congress. Let’s send a powerful message tomorrow and every day that the people of this country have had enough – that we will not sit by and let this government, which speaks in our name, write a black check for Israel’s endless war against the Palestinian people.
