Whoever considers himself above the law must be treated as being outside the law.

By Afaf Aniba

To this day, only a quarter of the aid has entered the Gaza Strip, and amid extremely harsh climatic conditions, Gazans continue to die—both the elderly and the young. Medicines are not entering; moreover, medications for chronic diseases and treatments for the malignant disease (cancer) are still unavailable to patients in the Strip.*

For the foreign ministers of the states guaranteeing the truce to express deep concern over the deterioration of conditions in Gaza neither advances nor delays anything. The guarantor states are required to take concrete action on the ground and to exert pressure on the United States and its allies to enable Gazans to obtain their most basic rights.

This spectator stance is all we have gained from Muslim guarantor states, most of which are normalized with the Zionist enemy. The situation cannot tolerate statements of condemnation or denunciation, and we—as human beings—have grown weary of the betrayal and cowardice of governments that are supposed to be entrusted with defending our very existence on our land.

The war continues: through bombardment, sniping, and starvation, while everyone remains in a state of waiting. Waiting for what? For a miracle to occur? We are the ones who create miracles, and God Almighty will not grant us victory unless we grant victory to His cause. Have the states of the Arab and Islamic world not yet realized that there is no international law, no international obligations, and no humanitarian conventions when it comes to the sons of Zion—and that whoever considers himself above the law must be treated as being outside the law?

Gaza determines our destiny as Muslims, not the destiny of Palestinians alone. And if we do not yet grasp the necessity of unity and of throwing our full weight into the international arena, our turn will inevitably come, and then regret will be of no avail.

*United Nations reports (the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs—OCHA, the World Health Organization—WHO, and the World Food Programme—WFP) clearly confirm that the entry of aid into Gaza is extremely limited compared to actual needs, and that the health system is in a state of collapse, particularly with regard to chronic diseases and cancer.
