As the criminal Zionist-American war on Iran enters its second month, the conflict has proven so ruinous for the aggressors that dire alarm is being widely sounded. Embarrassing failure to subdue the Islamic Republic from the air has raised the prospect of a US ground operation of some kind,\u00a0widely perceived<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0as a suicide mission. Washington has also\u00a0burned through<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0over 850 Tomahawk missiles and 1,000 air-defense interceptors, at a rate the Pentagon finds \u201calarming\u201d. In the process, Israel is rapidly approaching total disarmament.<\/p>\n On\u00a0March 24th<\/a><\/strong>, elite British state-connected \u2018think tank\u2019 RUSI published a withering post mortem of the war\u2019s first 16 days. An in-house \u201cledger tool\u201d tracking the \u201cintense consumption of advanced munitions\u201d by the US and Zionist entity calculates 11,294 fires over this period, which cost a total of approximately $26 billion to produce. Resultantly, US – and thus Israeli – inventories of long-range interceptors and precision strike weapons \u201care nearing exhaustion.\u201d And it will perhaps\u00a0cost double<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>that staggering amount to replenish what has been lost.<\/p>\n The Resistance shows no signs of slowing its onslaught, with every indication Tehran\u2019s munitions production\u00a0continues apace<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in wartime. Even the Western media\u00a0has acknowledged<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Iran\u2019s drone and missile arsenal costs a fraction to produce of the past and future outlay involved in shooting them down. Per RUSI, the war on Iran has exposed a \u201ccritical vulnerability\u201d at the core of the Empire\u2019s warfighting capabilities: a \u201cstrategically ruinous cost-exchange ratio that the West\u2019s industrial capacity is not prepared to sustain.\u201d<\/p>\n Over a dozen different munitions were fired by the US and Israel over the conflict\u2019s first 16 days, \u201cat a rate that appears to be unsustainable.\u201d Now, Tehran\u2019s relentless barrage \u201ccontinues to drain the coalition\u2019s most critical assets\u201d – RUSI calculates missile and drone attacks have averaged 33 and 94 strikes daily, on average. By contrast, the organisation\u2019s analysis shows \u201cthe magazine abyss\u201d for Washington and Tel Aviv is \u201ccoming soon\u201d. Moreover, Rheinmetall\u2019s CEO\u00a0has cautioned<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>the Empire\u2019s global munitions stockpiles are \u201cempty or nearly empty.\u201d<\/p>\n The Zionist-American war on Iran has thus become \u201ca contest of endurance,\u201d in which \u201cthe decisive advantage shifts to the actor that can sustain its defensive economy and replenish its most critical assets.\u201d Based on current battle trends, the Islamic Republic firmly holds that advantage, and will continue to do so. The US could be mere weeks away from running out of ground-attack missiles – including\u00a0much-vaunted<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>ATACMS – and THAAD interceptors. RUSI similarly forecasts Israel\u2019s Arrow interceptors will \u201clikely\u201d be \u201ccompletely expended\u201d come April.<\/p>\n On top of enormous expense, even at pre-war production levels, it would take years to replace what was spent in just over two weeks against Iran. As this journalist documented on\u00a0March 24th<\/a><\/strong>, Tehran\u2019s closure of the Strait of Hormuz has thrown the Empire\u2019s already shattered defence industrial base into total disarray. Commodities and components central to constructing and maintaining digital and electronic systems, and precision-guided munitions, which hitherto transited the Strait daily in abundance are now scarcer and ever-rising in cost.<\/p>\n \u2018Constant Alert\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Iran has not only overwhelmed and disarmed the Zionist entity and imperial targets throughout West Asia via systematic, staggered blitzes of drones and missiles. Crippling\u00a0at least<\/a><\/strong>\u00a012 US and allied radars and satellite terminals throughout the region has dented interception rates far further, while increasing the number of munitions necessary to shoot down the latest barrage blasted from Tehran – often unsuccessfully.\u00a0Up to 11<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Patriot interceptors can be fired at an Iranian missile,\u00a0up to eight<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>at a single drone.<\/p>\n As a\u00a0March 26th<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0report by\u00a0highly influential<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Zionist \u2018think tank\u2019 JINSA observes, \u201cIran\u2019s attacks have imposed mounting costs on every component of the defensive architecture.\u201d The Islamic Republic entered the conflict \u201cwith a deliberate plan to degrade US and [allied] capabilities by attacking each element of their air defense architectures.\u201d In the process, \u201csome of the most capable and expensive sensors\u201d in Washington\u2019s global inventory have been destroyed, with little chance of near-term repair.<\/p>\n These sensors in many cases explicitly provide the Zionist entity with an \u201cearly warning\u201d system. A gaping and ever-widening hole has thus been torn in Tel Aviv\u2019s detection and warning network. As such, Iranian drone swarms – \u201cfrequently drawing on Russian tactical innovations from the Ukraine war\u201d – are routinely proving \u201cfar harder to detect and defeat\u201d than missiles, hitting twice the number of targets with pinpoint accuracy. Some US sensor systems cannot detect low-altitude Shahed volleys – including those specifically designed to counter drones.<\/p>\n It is not just Shaheds that have wreaked havoc. The entire Resistance is increasingly deploying fiber-optic guided drones \u201cimmune to electronic warfare jamming,\u201d and first-person-view drones \u201cfor precision strikes against point targets,\u201d JINSA reports. Other Iranian drones are equipped with jet engines, making them significantly faster than Shaheds, and interception even more problematic. As the conflict evolves too, Tehran has increasingly relied on ballistic missiles carrying cluster warheads, which release up to 80 submunitions at high altitude that scatter across areas spanning several miles.<\/p>\n JINSA assesses over half of the total Iranian missiles fired during this conflict to date carried cluster warheads, compared with three\u00a0known uses<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>during the calamitous\u00a012 Day War<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cEven a successful intercept does not guarantee the bomblets are stopped\u201d – if interceptors fail to strike these missiles before they reenter the Earth\u2019s atmosphere, they still disperse submunitions in the air, or release them upon impact. These attacks don\u2019t deliberately target Israeli civilians, but nonetheless make daily life miserable for the settler colony\u2019s population:<\/p>\n \u201cSmaller, more frequent Iranian salvos keep civilian populations under constant alert\u2026[This] shortens the time between attacks while reducing overall lethality, trading mass effect for persistence to wear down daily life. Warheads with cluster munitions amplify these disruptions by increasing the chance that submunitions or debris fall in populated areas\u2026Israel\u2019s decision not to fire against all incoming ballistic missiles carrying cluster munitions also suggests a need to ration interceptors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u2018Highly Capable\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n However, the Resistance is predominantly concerned with fulfilling its \u201cdeliberate plan to degrade\u201d US and Israeli defensive capabilities, to drive the former out of West Asia permanently and make the region safe for Palestine\u2019s final liberation. On this score, JINSA notes the \u201cdevastating effects\u201d of Iran\u2019s drones and missile barrages on supposedly invulnerable targets.
