Where can we find the courage of Zabana or Larbi Ben M\u2019hidi, of those who walked toward death with steady steps and immense faith?<\/p>\n
Whom do we fear, for God\u2019s sake, that makes us abandon our people in Palestine to die the worst kind of death \u2014 by bombing or by starvation?<\/p>\n
I say it and repeat it: whom do we fear when our end is already known and inevitable? Sooner or later, death is our fate. Then why this overwhelming amount of cowardice, apathy, and betrayal?<\/p>\n
Is it conceivable that 100 million Egyptians are incapable of breaking the siege on their brothers in Palestine? Or have the hearts of Egyptians died? And why does the Jordanian people watch the death of the West Bank and do nothing but protest in the streets of Amman and their country?<\/p>\n
And is it reasonable that the people of Palestine 1948 remain silent, still, watching their own families die without taking meaningful action to support them?<\/p>\n
Questions forcefully flood my mind: why has cowardice reached such a dangerous level among us?<\/p>\n
Why have we not yet understood that our turn will come, and we will suffer many times more than the people of Gaza?<\/p>\n
How can we explain this indifference spreading among us, as if the people of Gaza live on a planet farther than Venus, so we do not even bother to follow or support them?<\/p>\n
Yes, the people of Gaza need our prayers in our worship, but they need even more our impactful actions in their bitter reality \u2014 and this is what we continue to withhold to this very day.<\/p>\n
