Every winter, the world sinks into a sea of advertisements announcing the approach of the birth of Prophet, Jesus Christ. This time, I want to speak about an aspect that I find important as a Muslim.
\nWho among us does not rejoice at the birth of Jesus, peace be upon him? No one. But how many of those who consider themselves his followers actually practice the noble virtues he called for\u2014chastity, modesty, honesty, and the affirmation of divine oneness ? None.<\/p>\n
Most of those who celebrate the birth of Christ are Christians in name only ; as for their ethics, they bear no resemblance to Jesus, peace be upon him, nor to religious morality. Who among today\u2019s Christians truly embodies the Ten Commandments ? No one. I cannot understand this commercial frenzy, this flood of advertising, and the eagerness of most Western royal families and elites to celebrate an occasion like the miraculous birth of Christ while their hearts do not beat with monotheistic faith, nor do they adhere to the virtue of chastity that lay at the heart of the mission of Jesus, peace be upon him.<\/p>\n
This stark contradiction reminds us of the moral decay witnessed in the countries of the Global North, and raises the question : how can nations like these claim to be a model for the rest of humanity when their institutions have, countless times, \u201ckilled\u201d Prophet Jesus in Gaza and in many places across our planet, and when they are a major cause of climate degradation ? Day after day, we move toward a planetary climatic catastrophe that foretells the extinction of humanity.<\/p>\n
Jesus, peace be upon him, gave glad tidings of a believing humanity that worships God with clarity and integrity, that walks upright in its morals, avoids immorality, and forbids savage killing. Therefore, whoever celebrates the birth of Christ must first and foremost embody his ethics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
