قال الله تعالى

 {  إِنَّ اللَّــهَ لا يُغَيِّــرُ مَـا بِقَــوْمٍ حَتَّــى يُـغَيِّـــرُوا مَــا بِــأَنْــفُسِــــهِـمْ  }

سورة  الرعد  .  الآيـة   :   11

ahlaa

Powell Says Stimulus Package Unlikely to Create Too Much Inflation

كتبه
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell told lawmakers Tuesday that the economy is recovering more quickly than expected but he doesn’t expect the $1.9 trillion stimulus package will lead to too much inflation. “We might see some upward pressures on prices. Our best view is that the effect on inflation will be neither particularly large nor persistent,” Powell said. The Fed chair said he does expect prices will move up this spring as vaccinations become more common and the economy moves up. Year over year inflation measures will show prices higher than in the depths of the initial lockdowns of 2020—a…

Bridging the Gap Between Capital Providers and Midsize Companies

كتبه
Summary.    There are 350,000 middle-market companies in the United States, but when it comes to accessing capital — whether they’re looking for debt, an equity investment, an acquisition, or a company exit — they’ve been mostly left wandering in the dark. They struggle to get the attention of banks, investment banks, and other financial services providers — and worse, when they do make a connection, they often pay outsized fees compared to large companies. So how can middle-market companies and the many deep-pocketed capital providers overcome this capital transaction chaos? The key to improving the velocity of successful capital transactions…

Bloomberg: White-Collar Visa Workers Take 2/3 of New Tech Jobs Each Year

كتبه
Two-thirds of entry-level tech jobs go to compliant foreign guest-workers, not to the young American professionals who may create a new wave of establishment-shaking companies, according to a report from Bloomberg. In 2018, “the U.S. had between 96,000 and 143,000 openings in IT occupations that typically went to candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or engineering,” said the March 10 report, headlined “STEM Graduates Deserve a Better Path to Good Jobs.” But the government each year provides “Occupational Practical Training” (OPT) work permits to hundreds of thousands of foreigners who have paid tuition to American universities. It…

U.S.-China trade dispute reveals three conflicts of views

كتبه
Chinese Ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming said that the U.S.-China trade dispute poses a severe challenge to the world economic order and reflects three conflicts of views between the two countries. Liu said in a signed article published on The Sunday Telegraph that the United States recently went back on its words after reaching a principled consensus with China. “The dark clouds of ‘trade war’ are once again looming over the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, and posing a severe challenge to the world economic order and the multilateral trade regime,” he said. Liu said that deep down, the trade…
Consumers were a bit less optimistic in February, data from the University of Michigan’s survey of consumer sentiment showed Friday. The index for consumer sentiment dipped to 76.8 from 79 in January. A midmonth reading, however, had sentiment at 76.2 and economists had forecast a reading of 76.4, so the actual results were better than expected. “Despite a small gain in late February, consumer sentiment was slightly lower for the entire month than in January,” said Richard Curtin, the survey’s chief economist. The dip in confidence came from households in the lower end of incomes, Curtin said. “All of February’s…

Practical Mental Health Resources for Overwhelmed Business Owners

كتبه
The myriad personal and professional pressures of the pandemic are taking a toll on entrepreneurs. Mental health experts, including a psychiatrist, an organizational psychologist, and an occupational therapist, among others, interviewed for this Businessweek news article also weighed in with their concerns and analyses. Below are some of their suggestions for individuals who run their own ventures.Make (a little) time to get perspective.“Every time I use an hour to talk to someone in my network to see a bigger picture, I always come back stronger,” says Paola Santana, the founder and CEO of Social Glass, a San Francisco startup that streamlines how government agencies buy from local businesses.…

How the global chip shortage is impacting Japanese carmakers

كتبه
The country’s major automakers have cut production at various factories due to the worsening global semiconductor shortage brought about as chipmakers struggle to meet soaring demand from consumer-electronics companies. Lockdowns and travel restrictions are prompting housebound shoppers to snap up more phones, game consoles, smart TVs and laptops, which in turn has fueled demand for the chips used in those devices. That means carmakers from Toyota Motor Corp. to Volkswagen AG are at risk of not getting enough parts to fuel a fledgling recovery in their own industry. That’s forced automakers all around the world to cut back on production.…
It’s difficult to look at the Middle East and consider its future optimistically. Much of the analysis of the region centers on crisis and collapse. There is plenty of both, fueled by wars and civil conflicts, poverty, extremism, and more. Given the human toll, focusing on all this is natural. It is also necessary if solutions to deeply rooted problems are ever to be developed, leading to a better future. At the same time, such a singular focus holds risks. A better future, if that is possible, is not only a matter of devising solutions to the problems of today.…

A closer look at who does (and doesn’t) pay U.S. income tax

كتبه
As Congress and the White House pivot from trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act to overhauling the U.S. tax code, it’s helpful to take a closer look at how the tax system works presently in the context of its recent history. Individual income taxes are the federal government’s single biggest revenue source. In fiscal year 2017, which ended Sept. 30, the individual income tax was expected to bring in nearly $1.66 trillion, or about 48% of all federal revenues, according to the Office of Management and Budget. The corporate income tax was estimated to raise another $324 billion, or 9% of total federal…

State And Local Governments Are In Crisis. Will The Election Change Anything?

كتبه
States are facing their worst budget shortfalls , and the situation isn’t likely to improve anytime soon as coronavirus cases surge across the country and federal relief legislation is delayed. State and local budgets have taken a major hit during the pandemic thanks to huge losses in tax revenue, tourism revenue, and ballooning healthcare and public service costs.  Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have maintained that relief money is necessary to stave off massive government layoffs, support schools, and allow states to continue providing essential services related to the virus, originally proposing some $875 billion for this issue…

Global economy coping with coronavirus better than expected: OECD

كتبه
The global economy won't shrink as much as anticipated this year, the OECD has said. Fiscal and monetary policy helped dodge a worst-case scenario, but economic recovery from the pandemic could take longer than thought. The hit to the global economy anticipated due to fallout from the coronavirus pandemic will not be as drastic as initially expected, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said Wednesday, though recovery will also be milder. Countries' efforts to counter the economic damage caused by national lockdowns put in place to slow the spread of the virus had succeeded in softening the financial blow to…
