Released prisoner Naseem Al-Radhi was arrested in the northern Gaza Strip and detained for 22 months before being released in the last prisoner exchange.
By Mr Muhannad Yousef Darwish from Gaza

He was subjected to all forms of torture and now suffers from disturbing nightmares, insomnia, and constant thoughts about his time in prison. He also suffers from anxiety and fear.
His house was targeted, and his mother was seriously injured. Later, his family was targeted again, and his father was killed.
During his detention in Israeli prisons, he refused to cooperate with an Israeli officer. The officer told him, “I’ll make you grieve for your wife and children.” Naseem never expected the officer to carry out his threat. Indeed, his wife and children were targeted, and his wife and three of his children were killed. Only one of his daughters survived. Upon his release and the arrival of the prisoner transport buses at Nasser Hospital, he began searching for his wife among the crowd but couldn’t find her. He tried to read the expressions of those around the bus to understand why she was missing, but their response was always that it was crowded and that she was nearby. He couldn’t bear her absence. So intense was his longing for her and his children that he had woven their names onto a piece of cloth inside the prison and smuggled it out to give to them.
Suddenly, he saw a released prisoner next to him on the bus calling his wife on a phone he had borrowed from his brother. He took the phone and tried calling his wife’s number, but it was switched off. He then called his own number, and his sister answered, congratulating him on his release. When he asked her about his wife and children, there was silence, and he stammered. He was stunned to learn that the officer had carried out his threat and killed his wife and children. He fainted twice on the bus, then awoke to the bitter reality of the loss of his family, for whom he had envisioned a beautiful life after his release.
