“ That’s the Trump vision really, UAE [United Arab Emirates], Saudi and Israel leading an autocratic-style, occupation-friendly Middle East. I mean, that’s where this is going. And I mean, they already exist now and the vision so-called for Gaza is that, right? I mean, this is what the so-called 20 point peace plan partly is. It’s about imposing and Jared Kushner has talked about this proudly.”
Thus, the message is clear and the vision even clearer: Trump and the Gulf states have drawn our fate as they want it, not as we want it, and they have stripped us of the right to self-determination—from Palestine to Sudan and Syria, and beyond. Trump and those aligned with him do not care whether our countries are ruled by responsible leaders; all that matters to them is the existence of strong authorities capable of imposing a de facto reality on their peoples in highly sensitive files, such as the Palestinian question.
So, what will be the reaction of the peoples and the elites? As I anticipate: they will remain silent, as usual, and will allow the axis of evil to decide what suits them. The Camp David Accords have, over time, generated hostility toward Palestine and its people, and this hostility has intensified among certain elites. And the result today: who will confront Trump’s murky “peace project”? No one. They have grown accustomed to submission.
At that point, it becomes incumbent upon the free and principled to move seriously toward overturning the table on Trump and all who follow in his footsteps.
